Local Crime Scene Clean Up (757) 535-4367

All good things must come to a end. The crime scene cleanup industry has changed. This once under established niche is now over saturated with companies who have very little experience cleaning up blood.I don't mind a little healthy competition however I see greed more than professionalism. I have been cleaning up crime scenes in the Hampton roads , Virginia area for over 15 years and have seen unbelievable things. Aftercare only cleans within a 2 hour arrival time area. This means if I can't arrive to a family within 2 hours we don't serve that city or county. This does not matter to most other companies who advertise in all areas of the united states. How can you offer service for a state if you don't have a location there? Most of the companies that advertise in my area on the Internet operate in other states. This means some of these bio hazard cleaning companies take your call tell you they can clean for you and then start looking for anyone in that area to go and clean for them. This is unprofessional and ineffective. The cost is going to be triple what a local crime scene company would charge. Aftercare has seen first hand that these out of state companies don't care who they send to a families home. Criminals, inexperienced workers, unprofessional staff are the reports that we are getting when Aftercare comes in behind to cleanup what they could not do properly. I received a call from a young lady the other night crying and angry. She asked if I could come out and give her a price on a crime scene at her families home. When I arrived I saw the large area of blood and immediately gave her a price of 1,000 dollars because she explained they had no insurance. She quickly told me we had the job and could we start now. I told her yes but as I looked around the scene I noticed used bio-hazard suits laying on the floor and on the couch bloody gloves thrown about. I asked her had she attempted to do the cleanup herself? She told me no they had called another company( who I will not name) I refuse to give them any publicity. They arrived late 3 hours after they were called. The cleaners explained nothing to her and started cleaning. 30 min after they started the homeowner asked how much they were going to charge? The man in charge told her 17,000 dollars. When she told them she could not afford that they threw there contaminated suits on her floor and pitched there bloody gloves on the way out of her home. This is the new face of the blood cleanup industry. Families should not have to experience this type of unprofessional and unethical business practice. Please look for local phone numbers when choosing a crime scene cleanup company. Call a local funeral home and ask for a reputable cleanup business. Check the Internet for complaints. This industry is full of get rich quick operators who don't care about families. Don't let them take advantage of a bad situation this just adds more grief to you and your family. Aftercare cleans up any type of blood related waste in all of eastern Virginia give us a call and we will help you in any way we possible can. (757) 535-4367

    1. 90% of all blood cleanups are covered by insurance. If there is no insurance; the state in which the crime took place has funds available to pay for cleanup charges.

  2. Home owner's and auto insurance usually covers the cost of cleaning aftermath. in fact, they prefer it be done by professionals, rather than family or friends.

  3. There are many considerations for a family or business when choosing a company to handle clean up or bio-remediation services after a traumatic event. For their health and safety, as well as the thorough completion of the work, dealing with a qualified, reputable company is critical.

  4. I want to appreciate all your efforts and the employees dealing with crime scene cleanup. that is not about simple household cleaning. The one who want to become crime scene cleaner should be mentally prepared to deal the things which are totally hazardous and must be well trained as the risk for infection is high. keep up the good work.

  6. Agree with your opinion. Your article is excellent, beware of companies who are unable to respond within a short time period. A death cleanup requires immediately response. Reputable companies should be able to be at your home in less than 3 hours. If they cannot respond to your situation quickly, move on to another company. Delayed responses may also signify that they don’t have the resources or the employees they need to do the job.

  8. Interesting post, also I suppose we must beware of companies who suggest they need to do work you feel is necessary. The company may be trying to inflate the cost of your death cleanup bill.

    1. Unfortunately, you are correct. Many companies out there are ripping off families and taking advantage of a desperate situation.
